Circus Series

"Paper Moon"
Watercolor on watercolor paper
I'm working on creating a series of paintings inspired by vintage circus imagery.  This first one is a dreamy contemplation of the representative and transportive nature of the tent, lights, and scenic machinery.  The painting also toys with the age old mystical associations between women and the moon.

More steampunk balloons

"Paris Balloon."
Watercolor, ink, and white pencil on brown paper
I so enjoyed painting the steampunk balloon version of Mr. and Mrs. Clause in "Christmas Morning", that I had to do another.  This one is

Detail close-up of the basket and figures.

Waterfall

"Waterfall"
Watercolor and ink on watercolor paper
In the midst of designing this years christmas cards, I was inspired to paint this.  It's a civilization accessed through a frozen waterfall.

Adventures in fan art

Inspired by the Doctor Who episode, "The Angels Take Manhattan".

The new mural in the children's ministry wing at River Ridge Covenant Church in Lacey, WA.
What a blast to get to paint something so playful!
It's difficult to photograph since it's in a hall way...

Here's a shot from the other end of the hallway.
